Nursing Home Electrical Testing
Chase Farm Electrical have recently completed electrical testing at a 40-bed nursing home, ensuring all systems are safe, compliant, and fully operational.
The works included testing to sum 400 circuits throughout the historic building and grounds.
Completion of the works required great care to the occupants and we worked with staff throughout the project to both ensure safety was maintained at all times as well as any potential disruption kept to a minimum.
As you can see from some of the pictures a test was long overdue and we were very happy to assist in bringing this installation up to current 18th edition standards.
Electrical Specification:
We go beyond identifying obvious faults by thoroughly investigating hidden damage or defects that could pose risks to you and others. Our detailed inspection process includes:
What We Check:

- Main Earth Bonding: Ensuring proper bonding to gas pipes, water systems, and structural steel.
- Fuses and Protective Devices: Assessing the adequacy and size of the main fuse and other protective components.
- Fixed Wiring Tests: Conducting a variety of tests on the property’s fixed wiring to ensure its safety and reliability.
- Electrical Accessories: Performing a visual inspection of light fittings, switches, sockets, and other accessories for wear or damage.
- Safety Features: Testing key safety devices such as Miniature Circuit Breakers (MCBs) and Residual Current Devices (RCDs) to confirm proper functionality.
- Warning Labels and Circuit Information: Checking for the presence of warning notices, labels, and circuit diagrams to ensure the electrical installation is easy to navigate.
Our Commitment to Safety:
- Inspect Thoroughly: From wiring to accessories, every component is carefully examined for potential hazards.
- Test Extensively: Comprehensive testing ensures that all elements of your electrical system meet the required standards.
- Prioritize Clarity: Accurate labels and warnings are essential to help you navigate your system safely.
